Executive Producer / Director
Sovanna got his start in television when he was selected from a pool of over 1,000 national applicants for ten coveted spots in the Nickelodeon Studios Internship Program in Orlando, FL. While at Nickelodeon, he worked with the post-production department, writing and editing promos for “Keenan & Kel,” and “Mystery Files of Shelby Woo.”
After Nickelodeon, he bounced up and down the east coast working on a variety of shows for MTV and Nick before moving out west to Los Angeles to work for the high school news-magazine program “Channel One.” Sovanna produced segments and crafted the words for some of today’s established reporters and journalists, including Lisa Ling and Anderson Cooper.
From there, he went on to write and direct segments for TelePictures, The WB, MTV, Spike TV, Animal Planet, and others before settling in as a Producer with JPL Creative in Harrisburg, PA. While at JPL, Sovanna produced advertising and marketing campaigns for many corporate clients - most notably The Hershey Company, EXELON, The American Cancer Society, BAE Systems, Gannett Fleming, and Giant Foods to name just a few.
Sovanna is the recipient of several awards for his work, including the National Videographers Award, MCA International Golden Reel, Hermes Creative Award, MarCom Award, and a Telly.
